My “I Look Expensive” Skincare Night
Because looking like you drink cucumber water at a private spa should not require private-spa money.
Let me tell you something: I fully support looking high maintenance on a reasonable budget.
I love luxury. I love a pretty bathroom. I love skincare that makes me feel like somebody should be outside holding the door open for me.
Do I currently have a personal esthetician waiting outside my bedroom?
No.
But does my skincare routine need to know that?
Absolutely not.
Tonight we are giving rich-auntie bathroom energy. We are moisturizing. We are decompressing. We are using the good robe. We are acting like the laundry has a staff member assigned to it.

Tonight’s mood:
“My bathroom has two sinks and a chandelier in my imagination. Please respect that.”
FIRST THINGS FIRST
1. Shower Steamers: We Are Not Taking a Broke-Looking Shower
Before we even touch the skincare, the bathroom needs a little attitude adjustment.
Turn the lights down. Let the steam build. Add your shower steamer according to the directions.
And just like that, this is no longer the same bathroom where somebody left a wet towel on the floor.
This is now a wellness retreat.
Is there a concierge? No. But spiritually? Absolutely.
Martybelles Luxury Move:
Put your towel or robe in the dryer first. If my robe is warm when I get out? Baby, the economy is thriving.

WE ARE RESTED. ALLEGEDLY.
2. Eye Masks: Because My Under-Eyes Need to Sign an NDA
Nobody needs to know what time I actually went to sleep.
That information is private, protected, and frankly irrelevant.
Pop on a pair of eye masks, sit somewhere cute, sip something from an unnecessarily pretty glass, and suddenly you look like the kind of woman who has a driver downstairs.
Do we have a driver?
No. Stay focused.

A soft-life announcement
You do not have to wait until vacation to act like you are on vacation.
Use the candle. Wear the robe. Drink out of the pretty glass. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, but these clean sheets are.
Main character maintenance
3. Gua Sha: Because Apparently I’m Booked & Busy at the Spa
There is something about pulling out a gua sha that immediately makes you feel like you have somewhere important to be after this.
One minute I’m in my bathroom. The next minute I’m mentally in a penthouse suite telling somebody, “Push my 2:30.”
Use it gently with enough slip from your preferred skincare product and follow the directions for your specific tool.
And please do not drag that thing across your face like you are trying to collect a debt.
Luxury is gentle.
Martybelles Luxury Move:
Put on music and take your time. If you finish in 47 seconds, you missed the assignment.

4. Lip Masks: Crusty Lips Do Not Match the Lifestyle I’m Manifesting
We have handled the face. We have handled the eyes. We have performed the gua sha ceremony.
Now the lips need to get with the program.
A lip mask is such a tiny thing, but it gives the whole routine that last little “I take care of myself and possibly own property overseas” touch.
I said possibly. Mind your business.

NOW THE BUDGET HAS ENTERED CHAT
5. Red Light Therapy: Okayyyy, Now We Look Rich-Rich
This is where the routine starts giving “I have a membership somewhere.”
Put on a red light device and everybody in the house suddenly has questions.
Why are you glowing red?
Because I am BUSY investing in myself. Next question.
At-home red light devices can vary in their features, wavelengths, settings, and recommended session times, so always follow the directions for your specific device.
Will I look like a glamorous robot preparing for launch?
Yes.
But if NASA calls, tell them I’m booked.
